Different fabrics, winter boots maintenance has its own particularities

Today's winter boots come in many styles and fabrics, and many winter shoes are made of combined fabrics, which puts higher requirements on cleaning and care. So here is a "menu" for cleaning and maintenance of different fabrics.

Nubuck

Special shoe brushes and special cleaners can be used for nubuck and suede shoes. First, use a shoe tree to prop up the shoes, then use the copper wire side of the special shoe brush to massage the stains, emphasizing on circles while kneading; then use the rubber side to wipe the shoes once, and use the copper wire brush to absorb the water-soluble dirt washed off; shake the special cleaner and spray it on the surface, use the rubber side of the special shoe brush to brush back and forth repeatedly, and use a sponge to absorb the dirty foam.

If it is suede shoes, let it dry for 10 minutes. When the fur is slightly dry, use the rubber side of the brush to tidy it in one direction; finally, put newspapers in the shoes for protection, and keep a distance of 15 cm from the shoes and spray the renewal agent evenly to replenish the color.

Patent leather

Patent leather shoes cannot be treated with brightener or shoe cream. Brightener will cause the paint coating to fall off in spots, and shoe cream will cause the upper to wrinkle, both of which will ruin the "bright future" of patent leather shoes. Patent leather shoes can be gently wiped with a soft damp cloth, or they can be taken care of with leather cleaners and cleaning creams. If the stains on patent leather shoes are difficult to wipe off, we can also make a solution with a ratio of 50:10 between water and hand soap, soak a white soft cloth and wipe back and forth on the stains, and then put it in a ventilated place to dry naturally.

Knitted fabrics

Most shoes with plaid knitted fabrics and a small number of patent leather or frosted leather fabrics have become fashionable. Many people think that this kind of short boots or boat shoes can be soaked and brushed in water like a tweed coat, which is wrong! Because it is easy to cause the shoes to deform. You can use water and sweater special cleaner in a ratio of 50:10, gently brush off the stains with a damp soft brush, and finally wipe the entire shoe with an 80% dry wet cloth, and put it in a ventilated place to dry.

Animal pattern leather

Shoes with animal patterns such as snake, leopard, cow, python, and lizard can be cleaned with shoe cream or water-based brightener, but oil-based brightener should not be used to clean them to prevent the coating with animal patterns from becoming brittle and hard.

Sheepskin

Light and soft fashion styles should not be cleaned with brightener, but with high-quality colorless high-grade shoe cream. However, the amount of shoe cream should not be too much. In order to apply it evenly and thinly, it is recommended to change the method of squeezing a large ball of shoe cream on one shoe, but squeeze a mung bean-sized amount of shoe cream on the toe, heel, front side, and 6 points on both sides of the ankle, and then quickly brush it with a soft brush to prevent the shoe cream from being "unable to be pushed or evenly pushed" after the solvent in the shoe cream evaporates. It will become slightly darker after cleaning, but it will not affect the overall color coordination and beauty.

Warm Tips: Some brand shoe counters have a free service, which is to help you clean and maintain your shoes. For different fabrics, they must be more professional than us in maintenance. According to experience, the counter will send the shoes back to the headquarters for cleaning and maintenance, which will take about a month.
